My weight has been bouncing in between 234 and 240 for the last two months. My fasting protocol had been 24-hours, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My morning blood sugars (levels are always higher in the morning and they are fasting levels) have come down to the 140s and 130s. Back in September they were in the 200s. The Facebook group I’m a part of (The Obesity Code Network: Fasting Support with Megan Ramos & Dr. Jason Fung) put forth a 42-hour challenge week this week. The protocol looks like this:
Sunday: Fast, Lunch, Dinner
Monday: Fast, Fast, Fast
Tuesday: Fast, Lunch, Dinner
Wednesday: Fast, Fast, Fast
Thursday: Fast, Lunch, Dinner
Friday: Fast, Fast, Fast
Saturday: Fast, Lunch, Dinner
Hour 20 is always the most difficult to get through (as I describe in a previous post). Friday was easier though. The most amazing part of this week is my morning sugar levels. I stopped taking Metformin last week so now I’m not taking anything. My blood sugar hasn’t been above 110 this week. That’s absolutely amazing! That means I’m starting to be in the prediabetic range. I also have hit a new low in my weight loss: 230 pounds. I haven’t been 230 pounds since I was pregnant with my son 18 years ago. I can’t wait to break into the 220s.
We will be going camping soon and although I won’t be fasting, I will be doing Keto. And not fasting should be okay since my activity is going to greatly increase than my typical work day. It will be interesting to see where I am at after the camp trip. I’m not worried and I’m not afraid because I know that if there is some weight gain, that’s okay. I can always fast.
